After a few weeks with a hurt ankle some months ago, Jeffrey has worn boots every day including Sunday. He is not going to turn an ankle anytime he is here.
Going to the market in his Hawaiian shirt, jeans and boots doesn't look odd or out of place but going to church....aw well life is good.
Speaking of going to the market - yesterday we got our list together, the recyclable bags and then neither one of us had any 10 cedi bills. This is a little problematic because our pool of "help" just keeps getting bigger. Our car is well watched over when we go inside to shop and it seems we need two men to push carts and carry out groceries and when it comes time to be guided out by security guards there are always two and yesterday there were three. Jeffrey said he only paid the big boss security and one of the guards and not the other in the background. He was able to get change for a 50 cedi from the cashier though it was difficult. No one wants to give out the little bills.
When we got back two girls immediately jump up and came to bring the sacks up to our apartment.
Everyone of course, got 10 cedis though a couple of them had to share a 20 and get change for the other.
Jeffrey says it doesn't matter because we are only going to be here another five weeks anyway.
Now that blows my mind a little....leaving in month and a some days....
