On Friday, the OGC or Office of General Counsel in the Accra Area Office went to lunch to celebrate or recognize almost everyone at the table. Someday I will have the formal group picture, but for right now I just have the round-the-table quick shots.
We went to a classy restaurant in the Movenpick [supposed to be two dots over that o] Ambassador Hotel.
We opted for the banquet and we given plastic gloves to wear and each dish had a shield over it. The food was really excellent, hot or cold and delicious.
Seated across from me was the Belnaps. Lorinda Belnap will be going home in June with two of her children and then again in July for keeps. So this is a good-bye for her. Up next is Anita who will be having a baby in early July and is helping out at the office temporarily. Hello/goodbye too. Then Esther who is doing a great job and is back from maternity leave, so Hello!
Sharon is at the head or foot of the table just had a birthday and some other "surprise" coming up. Can't wait to hear. Elder and Sister Eastmond is Hello to the OGC. They are not lawyers but are in this department as they are from a NGO operating out of Geneva promoting Human Rights education.
Back over to the Belnaps, Brent Belnap on the right of the picture is talking with the Burtons, Emmy and Richard Burton will be coming to live in Accra as Richard Burton will be the new ALC taking Brent's place. Goodbye to Brent in July and Hello to the Burtons in late July or August.
Jeffrey is next to Richard Burton and Christopher Belnap was sitting between Jeffrey and I so Jeffrey could tell him some stories. Christopher has been interning with his father for the last three months before beginning school again in the fall. Hello/Goodbye in June to Christopher. Jeffrey and I have been here for six months and this is the first formal OGC dinner so Hello to us.
I passed the phone over to Lorinda to round out the group with I and Christopher. Hello and Goodbye.
