Special Gift to grandchild from a Talented Woman

We had a live in person Sister Scripture Study last Wednesday where Sister Kacher was the discussion leader. We had an excellent discussion on "What Has Jesus Christ Done for You?" by Dallin Oaks. I loved the idea of having our focus stop being, "Lord, I need this and I need that, to a gratitude for the huge tremendous blessings that He has given to us." A focus of what Jesus Christ has given us as gifts that we can obtain.

She also brought her latest gift she is sending to a granddaughter who will soon be baptized. I had not known about her grandchild gifts, but another lady asked that she bring it so we could all see.

The children choose their themes and Sister Kacher gets a picture and adds the child in to the image. She uses many many pieces of material. If you look at Christ's face, or the folds of His robe, all those colors are different pieces of material. It is amazing how she can create this image with material.
She  adds a long pocket at the back so it can hang in their room.

When we asked about other children's quilts (having learned she has 10 grandchildren), she showed us amazing pictures of their quilts. One had a granddaughter holding white fruit which glowed up to her face standing below the tree of life. Another great was a grandson standing on the wall in a white shirt and tie with his hands in the air, one holding a book of Mormon while arrows are missing him. Another has a granddaughter walking beside Jesus on a colt waving a palm leaf. Sometimes the child has learned a new song or read the story about Christ or has a special empathy for a certain scripture story and this amazing talented grandmother makes it come to life.
