Preparations

President and Sister Carlos are determined to make this Christmas memorable and fun for the MTC missionaries this year. Sister Stewart and I went over to the Carlos' apartment this afternoon to help out with the preparations for Christmas weekend. Sister Carlos was making all kinds of cookies and assigned all her volunteers as we came in to different tasks. The MTC branch presidency's wives along with Sister Eckert the mission nurse and Sister Lee - I don't know her calling but she works with computers and information from Salt Lake all the time- anyway, we all were given projects to do.
I had lots of fun getting to know the wives of the Branch presidency of the MTC

Most of us were mothers of boys and had fun things to relate with each other

Sister Stewart and Sister Eckert were concentrating so hard they didn't notice the camera
Sister Carlos comes over to see if anyone needed assistance with their projects

So there are a lot of plans going on right now. Sister Carlos is organizing a life-size Game of Clue but instead of murder there has been a conversion. The teams will run around to various buildings on campus and find  Book of Mormon characters and ask them questions, by process of elimination the missionaries will be able to figure out who was the prophet that converted the person, where the conversion took place and what scripture was used. Then they will have to hunt to find President Carlos to get the suitcase full of candy and little trinkets.
The President, his wife and some of the staff (and dental) will go caroling in the dorms and will give out the "crackers" full of candy (that we wrapped and stuffed today) one night. There is a fireside planned with the Area Presidency on Christmas Eve.
I know they are giving each of the missionaries Christmas stockings as I was the one checking all of the little flashlights to make sure they were working. Many of the Senior missionaries have donated different things for the missionaries stockings.
On Christmas morning there will be stations of cookie decorating, building a Gingerbread house and a craft project - while the missionaries come in and out because they are calling home.
and then later that night skits and funny songs with the Christmas follies.
I don't know about the missionaries but the Carlos are sure to have fun because of all the service and effort they are investing.
