As you journey home to a new adventure in life, I want to make you a promise that if you will read the Book of Mormon every day and continue your sincere prayers every day to God, you will find your way over seemingly unsurmountable barriers.
I challenge you to start over and read the Book of Mormon
every day for the next six months. As you are looking for a new job, a new
direction, or a chance at education, you will note that Nephi wanted to know the
things his father knew, so he asked God. You will note that his endeavors did
not always succeed the first or second time. You will see how his interactions
with his Heavenly Father gave him a direction and fortitude in rough times.
Then you will see how he could find food with sticks, stones, grass all because
he always went to God. You will note how he lived his life in the wilderness
with those who hated him for eight years and then was given the means to not
only make tools but create something that could give he and his families a
means to a good livelihood in a new place.
I promise you that as you use this same formula of going to
God, listening, and acting on the promptings you receive that you will find a
way to feed yourself and others, get a livelihood, and succeed in your
endeavors. Your Heavenly Father put you in this place at this time for a
specific reason and it is up to you to go ask Him.
I am an old woman who has experience the goodness and grace
of God and know that He listens and answers every prayer and that we get what
we want most. Have a good life and closeness to your Heavenly Father who knows
you better than anyone else in this world.
