The girls party

Since all six sisters were in the same state at the same time, we had a party at Susie's house. For years we have had a dream to go to England on a Jane Austen tour. A few months ago when we started to turn the dream into a reality, it was interesting to note that not all the girls were Austen fans - wow! Some wanted to go to Paris and other places. So the idea of a trip was batted around for a few months - while watching Laura's health religiously. Some good things happening for her and some bad.

When we got to our girls party, Laura had a clear idea of what she can and cannot do and looked up a cruise where she can come to the same bed every night and go on excursions with bus, scooter, and car. She really did her homework.

All the girls jumped onboard with the idea. London, Scotland, Ireland, then London again where we get off and go to Bath for a Jane Austen tea party. One of the husbands objected to his wife going with just the girls. I talked Jeffrey into going with us.

Susie and I went over to talk to Donald and it was so serendipitous that his wife is going on a cruise at the same time with her dad and sisters. Timing, it is all about timing. Allen said yes over the phone and Dean had to look into his work schedule.

And then the idea snowballed  and about a week later - ALL the boys and three in-laws possibly four are going with the girls on a cruise. It is amazing to watch everyone come together to make sure Laura's dream comes true. If she had a "last wish" then no one wanted to say no. David is going to great expense, time, and effort to be there for his little sister.

Jeffrey and a few of the others will go to Stonehenge instead of Bath. Not all of us will be on every excursion together though we did all decide on one fancy restaurant together one night.
