Wow! Emma woke up with a smile and was happy most of the day! What a different experience to have a healthy baby!
In school I actually sat down with the kids, read scriptures, had a prayer and read a chapter of James and the Giant Peach. I was able to sit with Lilly and help her with each subject.
In the early afternoon we all went to their actual school building for a an hour. Caleb and Lilly were in the same class and I saw Jayson class come out and shoot off a catapult. "How", do you ask, "can you see him come out of class?" Because I stayed with a small baby in the front seat of the van and waited for them to all come back out. Interesting keeping a baby happy in a small place. Emma is much more active when healthy.

Lilly with all her animals. Can you tell how much she loves them? |

In art, Lilly watched a video to make a dinosaur |

I only noted Caleb in the pictures, look at the guy in the blue soccer shirt and shorts |
Jeffrey came in the late afternoon and had supper with us and watched the candle lighting. We turned the roll over and since it was crusty, put little holes with a knife so we could put the candles in. Jeffrey read this time and discussed the names of Christ - and all the candles burnt down to a nub.

It was nice to have someone else hold Emma |

Only one candle nub left |
Great Appreciation for Nate's Planning
Nate had numbered grocery bags that had simple-to-make suppers in them. The children can get their own breakfast - though three times I made waffles - and they can get their own lunch - sandwiches, leftovers (yummy when it's pizza), etc. The family all sits down to have supper together.
Nate had 7 labeled sacks i.e. fajitas, spaghetti, chili, dinner salad, pot stickers, quesadillas, stir fry, etc. The ingredients for the dinner salad was two bags of pre-made salad and grilled chicken already cooked. Yes, it was easy! Caleb and Lilly decided to have black beans instead of the salad, so that was easy too.
The surprise was the fact that everyone including the baby loved the chili. It was made with the spaghetti sauce that was left over (ground turkey, onions and red bell pepper (from the fajita bag) sauté with a little garlic and a jar of spaghetti sauce) and the cans of beans he had in the bag. Oh, and one can of Dennison's chili that was on the shelf. I couldn't believe that something so simple was eaten eagerly by all. Thanks to Nate's organizing and thoughtfulness.
