I am not sure what makes certain young boys more compassionate than others. Caleb doesn't like to hear his little sister cry. Since there are some things - like cooking - that I have to do without the baby, I would set her in the front room that has gates to the forbidden areas with plugs in sockets and sharp things everywhere. No little legos or small items, pencils, or toys are allowed in the front room. Emma doesn't like to be by herself. Caleb usually is the first one to run and entertain her. Lilly is close behind. Jayson doesn't play with her as much but he is just as helpful and wonderful to his little sister also. Is this a mama's training or just some characteristic. I told Caleb he was just like his dad. Nate was very careful, thoughtful, and compassionate with Rachel. In fact when he went on his mission, several of the kids said, "who is going to watch over Rachel?" Matthew took over the main job with Andrew on occasion, and Michael always watching out for her. Did Caleb inherit or learn this wonderful trait?
