After breakfast on Saturday morning, it was clear that Corina was going to have a quiet day on the couch, so instead of packing up for adventures, Opa, Oliver, and James headed to the park again. I wanted pictures this time.
Shortly after they got back from the park, James asked Opa to "check the mail." It was Oliver who translated that James was anticipating the arrival of the package that Jeffrey had ordered from Amazon the evening before. Evidently while the boys had been playing in the living room, they tried to make a hammock with the blankets. But if the blanket is secure there is not enough room left in the blanket to lay down on.
Opa asked Oliver if they should just buy one. Oliver said, "Yes!" Since it wouldn't be fair to get just Oliver a package, James picked out a truck and Jeffrey had to guess on books Corina would like. He called us in the car on our epic Arden journey, to see if Corina had read the books he picked from the Newberry Award list. She hadn't read them, so he ordered them for her. The schedule said they would arrive by 4 pm.
But since we had so much grace floating around anyway, the package actually arrived a little after noon.
Joy and Excitement
The package arrived with everyone's gift in it. No worries about a gift coming late! The hammock was in a very small sack (I wonder if it can ever be put back in such a small container), the truck was just right, and Opa handed Corina her books, hoping she would enjoy them.
Jeffrey told Oliver he would need to ask his dad where they wanted to hammock to be strung up. So both of the boys played with the truck, but it was problematic to keep the boys quiet so Corina could sleep. She would doze off periodically during the day.
I had the boys playing in their mother's room and James room and it was okay but not ideal for quiet. Looking out the window I saw the perfect trees to hang the hammock in the back yard. So we went out and put it up! The boys played outside! Corina could sleep.
At lunch time, Jeffrey showed Book of Mormon videos of Christ coming to the America's. Don't miss them if you haven't seen them yet. Easy access on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint website.

When Debbie got home, she said that she had always wanted a hammock - Isn't that serendipitous! |
Jeffrey and I had a really great time with Matthew and Debbie's children and being in their home. Corina, Oliver and James are very smart, intelligent, and curious about life. They are a joy to be around. There is obviously a lot of love and organization in their home and the stable happy children are a sign of that.
Jeffrey and I talked on our way home about how rewarding it was to come on this trip, be with the children and interact a little with Matthew and Debbie. Life is good!
