Old Friends

I am not sure why I don't think of pulling my friends together or even asking them out, so I am very grateful when someone calls and asks if we want to go out together.

Bonnie and Ken Carter invited us out to a wonderful Chinese restaurant, Chef Chao in Moraga -- a city just a few miles away. They had the intention of going early to make sure the settings were ready.

Jeffrey and I picked up the Nausin's and took off, but Jeffrey had looked ahead at the traffic and we decided to go a different way around because of a reported accident. Laura texted all parties and told them what we were doing. The Lamberts followed our route out, but the Carters followed the normal route.

The traffic conditions were horrible with gridlocks and muzzy rain and a little fog. At one point Jeffrey suddenly stopped so he wouldn't slam into the SUV in front of us, the car behind us drove onto the safety margin and missed us. Nice. Evidently the SUV hit the car in front of him because we watched a little road rage going on between the SUV trying to get away and dodge the little car who sped across four lanes of heavy traffic to hunt him down. Crazy - but we all arrived safe over the windy twisty rainy, dark hills of Moraga. I don't even want to hear about coincident versus answers to prayer - I know.  The Carters took another 45 minutes before we saw them. Good laughs, teasing, and conversations.

Thanks Bonnie and Ken
