Rachel comes back

It is another tending Amber day and she is taking a nap. It looks like this will be dedicated time to writing in this blog. It is a quiet activity, can be limited depending on circumstances and easy to put away. Perfect for nap times.

Christmas week with Rachel was fun and interesting. I am not sure Rachel wanted to "come back home" as she doesn't have a normal here anymore. That being said I had a lot of fun with Rachel and her activities.

On Christmas Day, Jeffrey kept checking his phone every few hours to see what was happening with Rachel's flight because so many flights around the country were being cancelled right and left. As it was she got on the plane in Moscow about three hours late as the flight had been postponed a number of times due to weather, flew to Boise, waited and got into San Francisco just before 10 pm. Jeffrey and I were not sure when she would get here, but once we knew she got on the plan we drove to San Francisco and waited in the car park.

Jeffrey kept looking on the flight status and would report how high the plane was and how fast it was going and how far out of the airport it was. I watched the night life around me and reported that on average 8 people out of ten cars on our side of the lot used the rest room, most were men, and on average three out of four would wash their hands. I wondered if there were more women in the cars that were like me and would rather wait and go at home rather than use a porta-potty.

Fog hung everywhere and made driving interesting. From the passenger seat it was pretty cool with weird light effects.

We got home, Rachel had the couch for the night and told me she was meeting with her friends in the morning for breakfast.

Rachel, Alyssa Parkin (married), Collett Nielson, Summer Porter, Lovelyn Helu (married)

Sorry, I don't remember the girls married names. Rachel said they had a really great time catching up on each others lives. They have been childhood friends for because they were in the same ward though not in the same middle or high schools.
