All my life I have heard of the things in Africa that are deadlier, sharper, thornier, bigger, and dangerous. But it is very interesting just experiencing that phenomenon. Take for instance a simple pineapple.

Coast Pineapple small but very tasty |

Though small, it looks similar to the Hawaiian variety |

But grabbing on to the leaves lets you know life is different here. |
It is not only the plants, animals, bugs, and air, it is also the people. They are more aggressive and do not like or want their picture taken without express permission and then only maybe. As a whole they are polite except if they feel they have been stepped on. The beggars coming up to the window are much more aggressive than the ones in the Philippines. Of course I have met very kind, generous, helpful people too. There is a noticeable sharp edge that tells me to be wary.
