Jeffrey and I left for Utah on Easter evening just as the Henderson's, Matthew and Michael's family all sat down for dinner. We arrived late at night at Susie's warm, welcoming home and went to sleep.
Jeffrey left early for Salt Lake City to go to work at the Church office building and we didn't see him until almost 7 pm. Happy, fulfilled, and exhausted. He quickly fell asleep. This is about the same pattern for him everyday except Tuesday night when he went straight to Taylorsville to attend Rachel's dress rehearsal for her barbershop choir's competition the next Saturday. After which he dropped to sleep.
Meanwhile, Susie and I ran around doing errands, jobs, and visiting each day. I can't look at any one thing that I accomplished that was big or remarkable, just a series of little things that were needful - or fun. We would do errands in the mornings like exchanging garments, picking up fabric for Oliver's baptismal quilt, feeding Krista's chicken's while she is in San Diego with her family, and stopped to check out the NPS store for light weight pants and Easter Eggs for next year. In the afternoons, Susie would do her Chaplain work making bereavement calls, while I did errands around the house.
On Tuesday morning we went to Diana's house where all sis sisters came together to visit with Diana because she had a hysterectomy last week. That makes us the hister-sisters as she was the last one left to have a hysterectomy.

I can't remember which day it was, but Abby brought over her wedding dress to see if we could fix it. It was just a little too tight as Abby is a gymnast and has muscles where many girls do not. Susie and I looked at it we knew the dress needed a real tailor, not warm-hearted aunts. I said a prayer in my heart and asked google about a tailor in Ogden and found someone who looked good. When we called she said to come on over right now.
Pam Harris is a very, very good tailor and knew a Tesch family that lived in Eden (relatives of Abby's). She gave Abby some free details and said the dress would be ready on the 11 of April! She also gave us a tour of their restored RV that had been through a hurricane. Too bad I couldn't take pictures of her detailed work! She is a real pro. It was very evident that she was a member of the church. Finding her so quickly felt like a quick, amazing answer to prayer. Abby's mother Laura felt so also, when we got back and told her of the amazing fact that we found an answer to Abby's dilemma so quickly.
I asked Pam to show off her fingernails as they are so cool! Abby is excited to be married in May. |
We went down to Taylorsville to watch Rachel in a dress rehearsal at the senior center where they practice.
On Wednesday, Susie was speaking at BYU and I spent the day at Rachel's house. I showed her how I make granola and left supplies so she could make her own. I also put together Oliver's quilt while she worked on her own quilt. We went to the store to pick up some things for Rachel's trip and picked up Susie from BYU. She told us some really cool stories about her hours teaching new chaplains how to do their duties.
