Jamestown Harbor

Jamestown is one of the oldest places in Accra. It is the original site where the English set up the working government when they were in power - until the 1960's. Accra has spread out and gotten much bigger and some government building have been moved to other places.

The markets and business still flourish well in Jamestown. Eugene and Baaba wanted to let me see a little bit of the history and took me to a place where we could overlook the harbor that is so crucial to the fishing industry. It was a beautiful day and it was fun to watch all the people going about their businesses down below.

You can see the new pier on the horizon. I just wanted to enjoy the view from a distance so we didn't go.
