Monday was a day to go see Baaba's new apartment. She wanted to get some measurements so she could plan where her furniture and things would be.
Eugene took us to Jamestown which is close to where Baaba will be living. In bad traffic she is 45 minutes to an hour away. In good traffic about 20 to 30 minutes from the temple. Since she will be taking public transportation, her commute will be up to an hour each way.
It is so important to Baaba to have a nice place to live. Since October she has been watching, looking, and hoping her prayers will be answered as the plaster and bits of wall and ceiling fall down. The landlord has no incentive to fix it as he has already been paid for this year. Her appeals have been ignored. Even some electrical wiring has come apart.
So being able to go into this brand new just built apartment is very appealing though she will go to another ward and have a longer commute to work. She is looking for the extra space to put up her sewing machines and have space to do her work, The "kitchen" is just a little bigger than my closet back in California and she plans to put the stove outside and put up a grillwork wall with a lock so it doesn't walk off. She will have a nice view from her third story windows with a nice breeze to filter through her home.
She is happy and looking forward to the finishing touches being done so she can move in.
