Changes

Every month, week, and sometimes daily there are new changes happening in my life. Most of them are good. New calling, new ward,  new trip, another new trip, new granddaughter, new birthday, new organization in the house, and daughter leaving for Utah. It is entirely good that Rachel is going to Utah to live with girls her own age and have a fresh start in the social world. I am going to miss her. Sometimes 'good' comes with its own stress.

It feels like since we have gotten back to California that we have had something changing in "normal" so often that I haven't figured out where normal actually is.

Yesterday evening, I went over to Andrew and Briona's house to spend the night with Amber and found Rachel had spent the afternoon with them because this is her last days in California.

Rachel and Amber Lynn at one week old

Rachel has had a really close relationship with Andrew and Briona since she has been living here. In fact, this reminds me of the "Newlywed" game we played at our family reunion where Briona and Rachel were partners because Andrew was sick in bed (with Covid). They were amazing together and knew almost as much about each other as the couples living together. The fact that one knew what the other would wear if the Queen of England came to visit was an eye opener to me!

I am sure this move change is really good for her. Still.......
