The first day at sea was interesting as my time zone was off. Day and night was a little switched around and I kept wanting to take a nap. I knew that wouldn't be wise if I wanted to have fun on adventures later.
The family met up in a lounge and we reconnected and played a game with a question. Wish I could remember the question! It was interesting to note how different and what different perspectives we all have now versus when we were growing up. Most of us have taken on the view that comes from our spouse and even the siblings that are close are radically different from each other.
It was time to relax, sleep in – yeah – most of us were awake at 2 am. It was fun speculating on the lights I could see across the rolling ocean. Is it France, Denmark, or Germany? Some of us went to the grill and had a snack while walking around the ship. During the day, everyone met, played games, and talked. Polly went to classes. She learned how to fold a dollar bill and make a tie. Then she showed us how to do the same thing. Garth wore the bow tie.
Enjoyed the day at sea. I believe some braved the storm and enjoyed the hot tub in the bow of the ship. We met up with the family again and had supper at Le Bistro and swapped interesting things with each other. Donald shared his dessert again - he is a really nice brother.
Jeffrey and I watched a show at night that was well done. One man who could play about twenty instruments. He accompanied himself while playing different instruments. Pre-recorded with white gloves and blackout clothes. He was very talented.
By sunrise there were no more lights on a shore or any land in sight - just the ocean as far as you can see. |
