Frustration -so prayers winging up to heaven

Nate and his children

Traveling up to Redding to visit the Grands and hopefully help out Kelsi and Nate a little, I had a prayer in my heart that I would actually be helpful.

Trying to do the right thing is tricky as there is no guide book or list of accomplishments to perform. I just have to wing it and hope for the best.

I was talking with the boys and wondered where Lilly was...

Kelsi had asked for some cloth masks, so I made some up for her family before I left. Corina (ok, not one of Kelsi and Nate's children, but my oldest granddaughter) asked for a mask (like Zorro's) so I had brought that project up for all the Grands. Nate had asked for some material to put in his hat because it was flimsy on the top and his head would heat up. I thought about cub scout camp and the beads I would soak in my kerchief necklace that kept me cool all week. I bought the beads and brought them up for his "hat" project. I also threw in lots of material and my odds and ends packs for "out of the blue" projects.

After hauling in my sewing materials, I realized anew that organization is not my strong point.

I could not find the masks I'd made for Kelsi's family and wondered if I had brought them. I did remember packing them on Saturday, but we didn't go on Monday and then didn't go on Tuesday because Jeffrey's foot was feeling terrible. But we got a call on Tuesday that we would be needed in Redding on Thursday, so we left on Thursday morning driving with Jeffrey's foot propped up on his knee the entire three hours. Needless to say I kept taking things out and putting them back in my packing. So what was really in Redding and what had been left behind?

If you know me, you will know I prayed silently to find the face-masks (if they were in Redding) then went on to the next project of the Zorro like masks. I looked and looked for the black elastic and was frustrated as I remembered buying it. So I silently prayed to find that. Nate needed butter and I determined to buy black elastic if the quasi dollar store close to their home had it. Looking around for my wallet, I could not find it. Yup, you guessed it another prayer winging its way up to heaven from a very frustrated soul.

In the determination to find my wallet, I unloaded my entire backpack and found the black elastic for the Zorro like masks. As I unpacked and repacked my sewing bags and boxes I came across the face-masks, and as I calmed down I remember setting my wallet on the piano. God is so good to me. I went to the store and bought the butter and a sewing needle to leave for Corina's mom who is coming up next week to be with Nate and Kelsi. I finished the "hat" cooling circle and sewed up the Zorro like masks. After which Jayson decided that a strip of elastic around his waist would complete his outfit because then he could put his sword on his back and whip it out when needed. Glad I could help.

Zorro like masks

I'm not sure if I was really helpful or not to Kelsi but we all had fun.
