Put Kenya on Your Bucket List!

Last week we were in Kenya for ALC [Area Legal Counsel] cluster meetings. The men stayed in meeting rooms at the resort (nice, but still four walls, tables, and PowerPoints) going over important information,  procedures and concerns. Th e ladies and wives toured Nairobi, discussed issues and concerns at lunchtime and some one on ones on the bus rides while enjoying the beautiful, cool weather, and amazing sights there. I much prefer the ladies way of doing business rather than the men. Of course, our concerns and issues have no legal or country-wide consequences like the men and I am happy to leave it that way.

Kenya - shades of "Out of Africa", some of the greatest Safari's that showcase parts of life that have disappeared in other countries of Africa, usually good weather, and it has been argued that the Garden of Eden was in Kenya. There are more businesses and homes that are permanent than in Ghana - though there are terrible poor parts, slums, and the poverty that hangs over all the countries I have visited. It is just on the whole it seems a more prosperous country than others.

I loved visiting Kenya and hope to come back if some of my family members will come early next year. I pinch myself to know I'm not dreaming. Who would have guessed when I was a teenager that I would be close to my beloved elephants and even have the opportunity to consider coming to Kenya again!!! I am very blessed, and lucky to be in the position we are in.
