Holiday Travel - Lesson Learned

We had no traffic problems and arrived at the Oakland airport about an hour and a half early. But we were NOT early. Our first clue was the line of people holding their luggage that went out the door and ALL THE WAY TO THE NEXT TERMINAL!

When we got to the kiosk and received our tickets to board, Jeffrey realized we would never make it standing in that line to deliver our luggage and then going on to the security line and on to our gate. Jeffrey changed our tickets right there at the kiosk to business class so we could go straight through dropping off our bags (without the line) and going through priority security. Amazing what money can do.

As we hurried to our gate, I wondered out loud how Rachel was doing and then called her to see where she was. She was outside in that long line. Jeffrey asked to talk to her, took the phone and then proceeded to buy her a business ticket for her flight to Las Angeles so she would make her flight too. All of us were in the air before sunrise.  Next time we travel on a holiday - we'll start at least two hours earlier and be prepared for long lines. But it sure was nice going first class.

I took a picture so we could find our car on our return
