Yesterday's Delegation

It is ironic or a conspiracy.
Yesterday morning I had three semi-dry scrubs and had the choice of putting on a magenta or grey pair of scrubs. Since we only had three hours of patients scheduled I thought why not wear my minions scrubs so the missionaries could smile at something during their (short) visit.
We all got caught up in re-doing the office because we had time. Sister Stewart was re-arranging furniture and paintings so a TV could be installed to show the waiting missionaries oral health movies, I was caught up in finishing my stockings for the dental clinic and Sister Whitehead was making sure things in the clinic were balanced and looked good. She moved tables and chairs and found a place for the stockings after I finished them.
Sewing up homemade ribbon so the stockings could "hang"
While we were twitching, tucking, and trying out other ideas, Elder Villanueva from the MTC came down and told us a delegation from China may or may not visit the dental clinic. Ahh, we cleaned up the debris and hauled the sacks and sewing machine to a bag under the counter and had everything looking spiffy in case they came.
Pictures re-hung on a different wall and all the chips, dust and tools taken out

Why is it that only when 'Very Important People' come, I am the one in the children's outfit?
It was a very impressive group of people who filled the clinic. Three men from China who will decide if other religions will be allowed in the country and what they can do if they come. Some of the top religious leaders in the Philippines who work together under a United Nations edict and of course the top brass from the Area Office.
In for a penny in for a pound.....I made sure everyone in the delegation came into the x ray room and looked at some x rays of the missionaries we are serving so they would know why we were here. The x rays can make you cry because these kids are so young. Just so you aren't anxious I covered the names with a napkin and didn't dwell on any one or two.
It was interesting that all of us had been doing our part to make the office a better place and just a bit later important people come......Sometimes prompting are so little and soft we don't recognise them as such..........makes me wonder about the sense of humour of my guardian angels though.

What an inspiring and funny story. Who knows maybe one of them loves the Minons.
