Happy Birthday to the Relief Society

In Accra, the ladies in the Relief Society wear dresses made with material that has the Relief Society symbol printed on it - or Relief Society colors of blue, yellow or gold, and white. Some of the ladies after church were taking pictures of their dresses with color.

Ward Sisters!

Baaba was so very sick the week before, she couldn't get Comfort and my dress done. My dress is a straight blue with a shirt jacket of the printed material over it. That way I can wear it with other shirts or shrugs all year long instead of just in March.

This last week the missionaries came to Sister Scripture Study with their dresses.

Sister Wade, Sister Penner, Sister Gilmore wears a dress in honor of Sister Jack*, Sister Meridith, Sister Brox, and Sister Wursten

*Elder and Sister Jack medical advisors served almost half of their mission. Last week, Elder Jack was walking on the street in front of the temple when he tripped or slipped and fell hard on his shoulder, head, and leg. Luckily the security guards saw him and immediately went to help him.

Later they found he had two breaks in his shoulder and arm, lacerations, bruises, and sprains in his wrist, leg, and neck. with long lacerations on his head.  I told Gayle that it was fortunate that he hit his shoulder with that force instead of his head. Anyway, they had to leave the next day for the states, so he could get surgery and care with his own doctors.

It was a shock and we are all glad that it looks like they will eventually be okay. The Jacks left much of their stuff here and took only what fit in their suitcase. This flowered dress was left behind and it fits Sister Gilmore so she wore it in Sister Jack's honor.
