Ministering Visits

It has been a joy to go to women's homes for ministering visits. Often we go on Saturday's as that is when we are the most available.  It was with great sadness that we found out Grandma (Esther Adagbe) has been diagnosed with cancer. They feel they have caught it early and that after treatment she should be okay.

Eugene has been so helpful! He can find obscure addresses as he knows the areas around here. He knows who to ask when he doesn't get it exactly right. Second, he is a nurse! So when we visit he can be of help in the visit. He knows exactly what the ladies are saying and what it means. For me, he can translate the things I need to know. It is a little unusual to have a man on a visit (not a member but so nice he should be) but he has been great.

Comfort is very gifted and aware of the needs of the sisters and knows who to ask to get them the help they need. Patricia Antwi is amazing. She stayed with Gifty Adagbe when she collapsed at work and was taken to the hospital. There are no chairs in the hospital room - which had six beds and no air-conditioning. Visitors usually wait out outside in a designated area and come in when they get a call from the patient that they need something. Interesting. Patricia stayed by Gifty for almost a week while they worked through labs and tried to get her the help she needs.

Besides Grandma and Gifty we tried to visit a new mama, but she had to go back to the hospital with her baby as he had complications. So we visited Peggy Manu's mom. Great visit though we left after she told how her niece had lost her 3 week old baby because she had a hole in her heart. If she had flown to America she could get the operation she needed to live.
