Where conversations in the pool lead

On Monday most of the temple view ladies met at the swimming pool for exercises. Lucie lead us in some great moves and then we got talking. Was it Sister Kaku who said we should sing together on Saturday at the "Let Your Light Shine" event? Was it Hannah or Lucie?

Regardless, a notice went out on our WhatsApp group from Hannah talking about preparing for the talent show on Saturday. She suggested hymn 1206 as it is one of her favorites.  I had to go look it up. Were You There? I had never heard it or of it before. The answers snowballed and we had a practiced arranged at Sister Doe Kaku's apartment.

That's when I found out that the smiling Sister Doe can be dramatic! She had ideas for walking out and talking the first verse and the last verse before we sang the song. She began, then Lucie and Hannah ended up sharing the last verse in the talking segment. As the night went on Sister Ojediran got a solo (the third verse) - while Sister Wilson and I stayed in the background. I think she and I were both thinking that since this was an Africa American spiritual, they should be the major part while we are the back-up singers.

It was actually fun working together. We had a final rehearsal about a half hour before the event started. Doe got us leis so we would look like a team. We were the first on the program as two members had other places they were going. We did okay. Yes, there is a video but I think it's better to just imagine we did it all right.
