Castle on Loch Ness

Day two of Excursions was really sweet, wonderful and nice for Jeffrey and I. Probably our favorite excursion. Our tour guide sold us on the highlands of Scotland and sang to us as well as giving us vivid descriptions of what was around us. We could see in our minds eye, the English coming in, taking over, and using the "clearances" to put sheep in instead of the Scottish people. As we traveled the clouds cleared away and a vivid blue sky shone over Lock Ness (with billowy clouds on the horizon).

We visited Urquhart Castle ruins. Starting at the visitors center with a video description of what the castle was like and how it was defended and use and the ultimate blowing it up so the English and company couldn't use it. Then the curtains opened and we could see what is left of the castle today.

We went out and enjoyed the castle and beautiful day.

Of course we were told to keep a sharp eye out for Nessie, the Loch Ness monster - though it only came into existence after cameras were created.
