Steven went for Ancestry Appointment

We have known for years that my grandfather's grandfather came from Ireland and had a baby in New York. Since that son came again from Ireland and then made his way across the United States to Idaho, we just figured his mom and dad went back to Ireland sometime. But getting records for the late 1700's is problematic because of a fire in the Capitol that destroyed many records. Where in Ireland did he come from or go back to? Why?

Steven made an appointment in the morning and then in the afternoon went to see an expert in locating old families in Ireland. They looked all over parish records for any Lore's but didn't find any - until they looked in the baptismal records and found some Godparents. It looks like the Lore's were not Catholic but were selected to be Godparents to some of their friend's children.  He told Steven the name of the town. So maybe someday we'll get more information.

The man told him to go down to the shore and pick up rocks for the family so they could take home some of their fatherland - to remember where we came from.
