We met a couple who were dressed in 15th century garb. It was fascinating because she showed us all the layers to her clothes. The bottom layer next to her skin was the only thing washed. The petticoats, dress and outer coat came next. She said there were seven layers. Her shoes could be worn on either foot. What I could see of her face and body made me think of my sister-in-law Janice who is short, has soft freckles and was born in Scotland - just like this particular lady.
Another man in a kilt came up the hill. I am not sure if they were part of an activity or what. It was fun to see them and imagine how life used to be.
